The Art of 8 Limbs Part Deux (Muay Thai Kickboxing)

Have you always wanted to learn how to kick some ass? Come and join your fellow Mastermind Connect members and Learn self-defense techniques through this intensive workout, and try something new with us.

Bound to be the most fun and interactive wellness event, yet, we'll learn one of the oldest fighting art forms in the world called Muay Thai. Muay Thai kickboxing is a combat sport borned in Thailand that uses stand-up striking, along with various clinching techniques.This physical and mental discipline, which includes combat on shins is known as "the art of eight limbs" because it is characterized by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees, shins, being associated with a good physical preparation that makes a full-contact fighter very efficient.

Things to know:

1. There will be NO sparring so don't worry we'll be learning basic techniques and hitting pads.

2. Please arrive at 2:45pm PROMPTLY

3. Bring shorts

4. Gloves will be provided but feel free to bring your own

5. You will be barefoot on a mat so sneakers aren't necessary
About the Venue: Anderson’s Martial Arts Academy (AMAA) offers one of the most highly respected, quality mixed martial arts programs in the nation. Founded by Sifu Dan Anderson in 1996, Anderson’s Martial Arts Academy continues to grow in its size and stature. However, it remains committed to the task of providing students with the most practical and effective self-defense skills – rooted in the principles of martial arts.
