Re-cap: Camping to Connect: Members Only Event

How do you disconnect when you live in the the busiest city in the world? You get 40 acres of camping ground, load up the cars, bring the bug repellent and go north. The Mastermind Connect is lucky enough to have great brand partners such as Upruit, which helped us secure 40 acres of camping ground in Andes, New York, to have all to ourselves.

This experience was unforgettable and allowed us to reconnect with nature. We wanted the real camping experience: no running water, electricity, or cellphone signal, and ventures into the wilderness on a phenomenal hike. This hike was what the Mastermind Connect truly stands for and that’s pulling the next man up when you see him falling down.

We drank and ate like kings, with a campfire cuisine that would make Wolfgang Puck jealous. Our head of media, Theodore Samuels, kept the salmon, hot dogs, grilled vegetables and s'mores rolling, all while capturing phenomenal images.

These types of environments always make way for honesty and openness. Our Founder, Michael McConnell, challenged the members to leave something behind, whether it be regret, anxiety or fear. The members all participated and expressed their gratitude for being allowed to share. This was made even more enjoyable, as we gathered to smoke amazing Dominican cigars, provided by our friends at Hispaniola Cigars.

The mixture of nature, camaraderie, survival made way for a memorable experience that none of us will ever forget. The next camping trip is in the Fall, where we will learn to make our own Rum!
