Soulful Sundays: King, Warrior, Magician, Lover (Recap)

Life’s most fundamental dynamic is the attempt to move from a lower form of experience and consciousness, to a higher (or deeper) level of consciousness.

On the morning of November 10, 2019, Mastermind Connect members decided to come together for some fellowship and fulfilling conversation, joining virtually in our latest iteration of the Soulful Sundays series.

Focused around Robert Moore and Douglas Gillette’s King, Warrior, Magician, Lover - a new book we decided to add in conjunction to our “The Way of the Superior Man” teachings, we took a different focus with this call, with the theme centered around the “4 Archetypes of the Mature Masculine;”

The King: the archetype of being centered, decisive, protecting, and operating with the highest moral order.

The Magician: the archetype of intellectual curiosity, the holder of hidden knowledge.

The Warrior: the archetype of the martial warrior, the "by any means necessary" part of self

The Lover: the archetype of emotion, feeling, idealism, and sensuality.

The conversation built upon the concepts of the “Immature Masculine Self” (Boy Psychology), and how they all contribute to the “Mature Masculine Self” (4 Archetypes)

Our dialogue around each archetype was guided by three essential questions:

  1. What archetype is the most challenging for you?

  2. What archetype do you find the most value in?

  3. What archetype do you feel most disconnected from?

Without acknowledging the needs and tendencies of the “Boy,”  having capable elders to impart wisdom, and safe spaces to grow in, we will continually to exist in a space of disconnect. Furthermore, we all realized that success is hinged on our ability to balance all four archetypes, in context. Balance is everything for a successful life.
