Why the NYC Urban Ambassadors Took Over Classic Man Barber Lounge

For many historically underserved young men in New York City, access to leadership training and mentorship is not guaranteed. In 2012, NYC Urban Ambassadors (UA) was founded to provide young men with purpose, leadership, and distinction. On Tuesday, June 19th, 2018, the young men graduating from the NYC Urban Ambassadors program were treated to complimentary grooming services by the good people at Classic Man Barber Lounge, in New York City’s famous East Village neighborhood.

Breakfast of Champions with the Urban Ambassadors Initiative

As past of the NYC DOE’s Urban Ambassadors initiative, Mastermind Connect members Frank Mena, DJ CEO, and co-founder Marlon Briscoe, had the opportunity to participate this morning in the first of their weekly Breakfast of Champions series; an informal opportunity for our members to interact with high school juniors and seniors, talk about their plans and future careers, and to participate in a Q&A session with them.

Young Masterminds Event Re-cap

On May 20th,  2017, the Mastermind Connect, in conjunction with the Coalition for Hispanic Family Services, held a series of intensive workshops, fitness bootcamp, and panel discussions dubbed the Young Masterminds initiative. The event took place at the Juan Morel Campos Secondary School, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
