When Carlos "Los" Davila and I started planning the group's first 5K run event, I was nervous and excited at the same time. Carlos, Shaun Jenkins and Marlon Briscoe are top notch trainers, who get paid to train people for a living. Who am I to put together a wellness event, when we we have these guys in the group? But running is my thing, and I'm honored these guys allowed me to organize and host it this month.
Read MoreClass. Style. Charm. Three words that accurately portray the aesthetic of the Rag & Bone brand. So much so, that our founder Manny Almonte decided to take a trip to their beautiful men’s only boutique space, located in Tribeca, NYC, to explore the shop and find himself the right pair of jeans for 2017, with the help from members Jason Andrew and Juan Yanez.
Read MoreMany of us begin our journey of self-belief and forget that others may not share the same viewpoint. If we can somehow muster the strength to wake up everyday, feed and nourish ourselves (and others), work a full day, workout, and then clock-in to our own futures, then surely that work ethic will be just as plain to others as it is to ourselves, right?
Wrong.

Read MoreI have a couple of hunches... I think society has not “made it cool” to go on retreats to better themselves. We have a very Las Vegas-like mindset while traveling, and it’s all about escaping instead of going inward.

The Mastermind Connect is lucky enough to have great brand partners such as Upruit, which helped us secure 40 acres of camping ground in Andes, New York, to have all to ourselves.
Read MoreWe're always looking to offer a variety of wellness events and we recently visited Harlem Cycle, a boutique Spin Cycling Studio. Owner Tammeca Rochester was gracious enough to offer the Mastermind Connect group this beautiful space. Read MoreOne of my clients was feeling stuck in his career. He was in his mid 30's and had been working as an employment lawyer for almost 10 years. But for the last four years, he had been dreaming about doing something else. Unfortunately, he had no idea what he wanted to do next and was afraid to make the wrong choice and waste more time in a job he wouldn't love.
When I asked him why he became a lawyer he said he did it because he thought it would be a good career path but admitted he didn't have a burning desire to be a lawyer. When I asked what other career paths he was considering he mentioned a few but immediately gave me reasons why it would be difficult to make a change.
